Squidoo Lens Backlinking Case Study Update #4

As promised in the last update, I have created two new lenses in an attempt to narrow down the very best backlinking tool for Squidoo lenses.

With my original four lenses, the front runners are (still) Scoop.it and Backlinks Indexer. So, with the two new lenses, those are the tools that I will be testing.

The two lenses were created on accounts that were started on the same day. This eliminates any aged account advantage.

Each lens has the maximum of 40 tags – the tags are identical and in the same order. While I know that the primary tag is most important, I am not sure if the placement of the other tags actually matters. Just in case it does though, I made sure that they match.

The lenses feature the same products in the same order. I also tried to include the same longtail keywords in the content.

I am not going to reveal the lenses right now as I don’t want to take the chance that some well-meaning reader will link to them and skew the results. But, I will post links to the lenses in the future.

If you’re looking for ideas for your own lenses, I used Jaaxy and Soovle to come up with my target keyword phrases. Another great way to find products to promote is to check out the Amazon best sellers list and click on anything on the list and then scroll down the page to look for the “Customers Who Viewed This Item Also Viewed” section – it’s a goldmine for product ideas.
